Proof That January 6 Was Not An Insurrection.
The truth of what happened on January 6 is far more interesting than the Media's hoax.
Another anniversary of January 6 has come and the Democrats and Media continue to pretend that it was an insurrection or coup. Because today is the anniversary, you can find them all over Twitter once again claiming it:
Of course, January 6 was not an attempt to overthrow the government or to end “democracy.” As often is the case, the truth is far more interesting than the Left’s hoaxes, largely because the truth often is more interesting than fiction, and, well, let us be honest, the Leftists’ hoaxes are becoming more and more unmoored from reality and logic the further we descend into the Trump Era.
For Trump, January 6 was all about his plan to challenge Biden certification under the Electoral Count Act of 1887. We have written about this plan before and you can read more about that here. Essentially, the Act provides a mechanism for challenging the Electoral College votes of the States as those States are called in alphabetical order on January 6 to state how they voted for President. Trump’s plan was to challenge electors from seven States so as to keep those States’ electors from counting. This would have resulted in Trump being re-elected because either (i) he would have a majority of the remaining Electoral College votes 232-222, or (ii) if 270 is required instead of a majority cast, the election would have to be sent to the House where States vote by State and Republicans controlled a majority of the State House delegations who presumably would case their one State vote for Trump.
Trump’s plan was well known before January 6, 2021. Among other places, The Washington Post ran an articles spelling it out in detail on December 30, 2020. The Wall Street Journal ran a piece on Trump’s plan on November 11, 2020. The AP did likewise on November 19, 2020.
In fact, challenges to certification of Electoral College votes have taken place in the past, so insiders in Washington were not surprised by Trump’s plan, even if they gave it little chance of succeeding. Indeed, in 2004, Democrats exercised this law to object unsuccessfully to certifying George W. Bush’s 2004 certification by challenge electors from Ohio. Similarly, in 2016, January 6 Committee Member Jamie Raskin objected to Florida’s Electoral College votes for Trump, but his objection was overruled as not properly cast by then Vice President Joe Biden:
Moreover, to challenge Electors from seven States, Trump supporters had to have Trump Electors present on January 6. Accordingly, the seven States had met, chosen Electors, and transmitted those names to the Congress by mail as required by law.
Given that Trump’s plan to challenge Biden’s victory in the Electoral College was known by the Media, the Congress, and Democrats and Republicans alike, everyone knew that the last thing Trump wanted on January 6 was for violence to break out. Trump wanted the rally participants to make their voices heard, but not for them to disrupt the proceeding the Electoral College vote because he had a plan in place where eight Senators and on hundred and thirty-nine Congressman were going to object to the seven States’ electors. This explains why Trump told the rally to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard. (The original link to Trump telling his followers to “peacefully and patriotically” approach the Capitol has been deleted, so I am attaching another source here.) It also explains why his Tweeted within nine minutes of the Capitol being breached and again fourteen minutes later for his supporters to be peaceful. Unfortunately for Trump, the disruption by those that stormed the Capitol caused his plan to challenge Biden’s certification to be abandoned.
This is proof positive that the last person that wanted violence on January 6, 2021 was Donald J. Trump. Democrats have never attempted to explain how the violence helped Trump because they cannot. If his plan was violence, he would not have gone to the trouble of setting up what was an elaborate and very public plan to challenge Biden’s certification in the Electoral College.
Indeed, if anyone wanted violence, it was those who wished to keep Trump from objecting and potentially stretching out over several days and capturing the attention of the Nation of the 2020 voting irregularities. This subject will have to be left for another day. For now, let us remember that violence was inconsistent with Trump’s plans on January 6 and, in fact, it thwarted his plans. In light of this, we know that whatever the storming of the Capitol on January 6 was, it was not an attempted insurrection or coup.
There is also this essay, predicting that J6 was an occasion for the spinning of a Narrative that the Swamp needed to keep control of the politics it held, thanks to the stolen election of the prior November. Plenty was already obvious at the time: https://therealslog.com/2021/01/20/inauguration-day-one-last-hoax-for-the-road/
Nasty Pelosi and Schmuck Schumer orchestrated the riot by having FBI and CIA operatives in the crowd to start the riot to prevent Trump’s plan to contest the vote of 7 states ensuring Biden's selection to POTUS.
